Stat. § 90.03), which are fences that divide the properties of different owners. Each owner is typically responsible for the fence lying to the right of their property when facing the dividing line. Additionally, Wisconsin follows the common law rule for tree liability, meaning that if a tree on one person's property falls and damages the adjoining property, the tree owner may be liable if the fall was due to negligence or if the tree was known to be hazardous. Disputes between adjoining landowners can often be resolved through local ordinances or through civil litigation if necessary.
