72-1560. U.S.D. 380 authorized to transfer certain land to city of Corning. (a) The board of education of unified school district No. 380, Marshall county, is hereby authorized to transfer to the city of Corning, Kansas, the following described parcels of land: (1) A parcel of land described as block 56 in the city of Corning, Nemaha county, Kansas, together with the school building and shop located thereon; and (2) a parcel of land twelve (12) feet square located in the southwest (SW) corner of lot seventeen (17), block 54, in the city of Corning, Nemaha county, Kansas; and (3) a parcel of land described as lots three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine and ten, and the east twelve feet (12') of lots eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen and twenty of block 59 in the city of Corning, Nemaha county, Kansas, being all of said block 59, except for lots one and two of said block 59 and except for the west (W) one hundred thirty-eight feet (138') of said block 59.

(b) The transfer of land and buildings described in subsection (a) may be made by the board of education of unified school district No. 380, Marshall county, to the city of Corning, Kansas, in consideration of $1 and no other consideration, and upon such terms and conditions as may be mutually agreed upon by both parties. The transfer authorized by this act shall be made by warranty deed if in the opinion of the attorney of the board of education such a deed is appropriate, and if in the opinion of the attorney a warranty deed is not appropriate, such transfer shall be made by quitclaim deed. The provisions of K.S.A. 72-3216, and amendments thereof, shall not apply to the transaction authorized by this act.
