72-1559. U.S.D. 241 authorized to transfer certain land to Harrison township. The board of education of unified school district No. 241, Wallace county, is hereby authorized to transfer a tract of land located in the southeast corner of the southeast quarter (SE 1/4) of section one (1), township fifteen (15) south, range thirty-nine (39), west of the sixth p.m. in Wallace county, Kansas, and more particularly described as commencing at the southeast corner of said section one (1), thence in a northerly direction along the east section line of said section one (1), a distance of four hundred seventeen feet, six inches (417' 6"); thence in a westerly direction at right angles, a distance of four hundred seventeen feet, six inches (417' 6"); thence in a southerly direction at right angles, a distance of four hundred seventeen feet, six inches (417' 6") more or less, to the south line of said section one (1); thence in an easterly direction along the south line of said section one (1), four hundred seventeen feet, six inches (417' 6") more or less, to the point of beginning, containing approximately four acres, more or less, together with the building thereon, to Harrison township of Wallace county, for a township hall and community center in consideration of $1 and no other consideration, and upon such terms and conditions as may be mutually agreed upon by both parties. The transfer authorized by this act shall be made by warranty deed if in the opinion of the attorney of the board of education such a deed is appropriate, and if in the opinion of the attorney a warranty deed is not appropriate, such transfer shall be made by quitclaim deed. The provisions of K.S.A. 72-3216, and amendments thereof, shall not apply to the transaction authorized by this act.
