§ 45-31-14. Officers of agency. The agency shall elect a chairperson and vice chairperson from among its members. The agency shall elect or appoint a secretary who need not be a member of the agency. The term of office of the chairperson, vice chairperson, and secretary, unless otherwise prescribed by the legislative body of the community, shall be for the calendar year, or for that portion remaining after each officer is designated or elected.
