§ 45-19-7. Appropriations for relief of fire fighters and dependents. The general assembly shall annually appropriate any sum that it deems necessary for the relief of any fire fighter and for the relief of the widow or widower or domestic partner and children of any fire fighter killed in the performance of his or her duty. The controller, upon the receipt of proper vouchers approved by the director of labor and training or the director's authorized agent, is hereby authorized and directed to draw his or her orders upon the general treasurer for the payment of the sum or sums that may be required from time to time.
