§ 42-21-5. Delivery of records and property. Unless otherwise expressly provided by this title, the head of a department, division, or other administrative agency whose functions, powers, and duties were assigned and transferred to another department or agency by chapter 660 of the Public Laws of 1939, shall deliver to the department or subdivision thereof to which the assignment or transfer is made, all contracts, books, maps, plans, papers, records, and property of every description which is within the jurisdiction or control of the head of a department, division, or other administrative agency. The head of the department to which the assignment or transfer is made is hereby authorized to take possession thereof; provided, however, that all furniture, fixtures, furnishings, and other movable property in the state house and state office building shall be in the care and custody of the department of administration.
