Section 822.046 - Vehicle dealer’s duty to inform potential buyer if vehicle used for manufacture of controlled substances.

(2) A vehicle dealer shall inform a potential buyer if the dealer has received written notice that the vehicle to be sold to the buyer was used in the unlawful manufacture of controlled substances prior to sale to the buyer. Disclosure shall be in writing and shall be made to the buyer and to any lender financing the purchase of the vehicle prior to completion of the sale. Unless the vehicle is found fit for use under ORS 453.885, the dealer shall also post a notice on the vehicle stating that the vehicle was used in the unlawful manufacture of controlled substances. Note: 822.046 was enacted into law by the Legislative Assembly but was not added to or made a part of the Oregon Vehicle Code or any chapter or series therein by legislative action. See Preface to Oregon Revised Statutes for further explanation.
