Section 3310.16 - Application periods for the educational choice scholarship pilot program.

For the 2020-2021 school year and each school year thereafter, the department of education shall accept, process, and award scholarships each year for the educational choice scholarship pilot program under sections 3310.03 and 3310.032 of the Revised Code, as follows:

(A) A priority application period shall open on the first day of February prior to the first day of July of the school year for which a scholarship is sought and run not less than seventy-five days. The department shall award scholarships under this division not later than the thirtieth day of June prior to the first day of July of the school year for which a scholarship is sought.

(B)

The department shall continue to award scholarships after the priority application period closes. If the department awards a scholarship after the beginning of the school year, the department shall prorate the amount of the scholarship based on how much of the school year remains. The department shall continue to award income-based scholarships under section 3310.032 of the Revised Code only so long as funds appropriated by the general assembly for such scholarships for that school year remain available.
