Section 72-19-28 - Elections.

Each biennial election of directors and other election of the authority, including an election to seek approval for the issuance of bonds, shall be conducted pursuant to the Local Election Act [Chapter 1, Article 22 NMSA 1978].

The 2018 amendment, effective July 1, 2018, provided that any election of the southern Sandoval county arroyo flood control authority shall be conducted pursuant to the Local Election Act, and made technical and conforming changes; after "election of directors", deleted "shall be conducted at the time of the general election under the direction of the Sandoval county clerk and in accordance with the election laws of New Mexico. Any" and added "and", after "shall be conducted", deleted "at any time approved by the board in accordance with the election laws of New Mexico. Elections for the issuance of bonds may be by mail-in ballot pursuant to the procedure set forth in the Mail Ballot" and added "pursuant to the Local".

The 2003 amendment, effective June 20, 2003, added the last sentence.

The 1991 amendment, effective June 14, 1991, in the first sentence deleted "each election proposition to issue bonds and all other elections" following "election of directors" and added the second sentence.
