Section 2-5-7 - Cooperation.

Each agency or institution of the state and its political subdivisions shall, upon request, furnish and make available to the legislative finance committee such documents, material or information as may be requested by the members of the committee or its director or staff which are not made confidential by law.

Examination authorized. — Records of the income tax division of the bureau of revenue (now the revenue division of the taxation and revenue department) may be examined by the legislative finance committee and its staff for the purpose of making statistical reports concerning revenue from franchise taxes and for the purpose of recommending legislation to improve administration of the law involved. 1957 Op. Att'y Gen. No. 57-162.

Legislature intended all governmental units to cooperate with the legislative finance committee in order that the committee might properly carry out its intended functions, since, if such cooperation is not forthcoming, the committee is given the power to enforce such cooperation by use of the subpoena. 1957 Op.
