217.030. Directors of divisions and chairman of parole board, appointment — appointment of general personnel. — The director shall appoint the directors of the divisions of the department, except the chairman of the parole board who shall be appointed by the governor. Division directors shall serve at the pleasure of the director, except the chairman of the parole board who shall serve in the capacity of chairman at the pleasure of the governor. The director of the department shall be the appointing authority under chapter 36 to employ such administrative, technical and other personnel who may be assigned to the department generally rather than to any of the department divisions or facilities and whose employment is necessary for the performance of the powers and duties of the department.
