§1071.2. Program for combating spinal cord disabilities; establishment

A. The office of public health shall establish a plan for services to children with special health care needs and shall promulgate any such rules and regulations as may be necessary to place the plan into effect. Any such plan may provide for:

(1) The administration of the plan by the office of public health.

(2) The office of public health to make any reports as may be required by the federal government.

(3) Accomplishing the purposes provided in R.S. 40:1071.

(4) Cooperation with medical, health, nursing, social work, and welfare groups and organizations which provide services to children with physical disabilities.

(5) Such other provisions as may be deemed necessary to carry out the purposes of this Part.

B. The secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health shall establish within the office of public health a comprehensive program designed to provide for the coordinated treatment, habilitation, and rehabilitation of persons suffering from congenital or acquired spinal cord dysfunctions. The secretary shall promulgate rules and regulations necessary to carry out the provisions of this Part in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act.
