160.156 State plan for community education -- Grant program. (1) The Kentucky Board of Education shall develop a state plan for community education which sets forth the goals and objectives of the program and establishes a system of priorities for targeting available resources on the areas with the greatest need. (2) The Kentucky Department of Education shall administer a grant program pursuant to KRS 160.155 and 160.157 to provide money to local school districts to employ one (1) full-time community education director to plan and manage programs and services for community education that are targeted to the greatest educational needs in the community and to encourage cooperation among all local school districts in a county. Funds shall also be used to provide professional development training to all state-funded community education directors. (3) Funds appropriated for this purpose shall be distributed by the Kentucky Department of Education through a grant process. Districts shall provide a twenty- five percent (25%) cash match in order to receive state community education funding. Effective: June 25, 2009 History: Amended 2009 Ky.
