123.99 False statements.

If any person, for the purpose of procuring the shipment, transportation, or conveyance of any alcoholic liquor, wine, or beer within this state, shall make to any person, company, corporation, or common carrier, or to any agent thereof, any false statements as to the character or contents of any box, barrel, or other vessel or package containing such alcoholic liquor, wine, or beer; or shall refuse to give correct and truthful information as to the contents of any such box, barrel, or other vessel or package so sought to be transported or conveyed; or shall falsely mark, brand, or label such box, barrel, or other vessel or package in order to conceal the fact that the same contains alcoholic liquor, wine, or beer; or shall by any device or concealment procure or attempt to procure the conveyance or transportation of such alcoholic liquor, wine, or beer as herein prohibited, the person shall be guilty of a simple misdemeanor.
