Sec. 3. If the fiscal body of a township adopts a resolution under section 2 of this chapter, the township trustee shall certify a copy of the resolution to the department of local government finance, including the language for the question required by IC 8-25-2-3. The township trustee may modify the proposed local question as necessary to indicate that the local question concerns a public transportation project for the township. The department shall review the language for compliance with section 4 of this chapter, whichever is applicable to the eligible county, while taking into account any necessary modifications for the township. The department of local government finance may approve or reject the language. The department shall send its decision to the township trustee and the fiscal body of the township not more than ten (10) days after the resolution is submitted to the department. If the language is approved, the township trustee shall certify a copy of the resolution, including the language for the question and the department's approval, to the county election board of the eligible county.
