Sec. 7. Each member of the county executive shall attend any school or course conducted for local officials under IC 8-23-9-56. The fiscal body of each county may appropriate sufficient funds to pay each member of the county executive a per diem for expenses for each day or part of a day the member is in attendance at any school or course conducted for local officials under IC 8-23-9-56, and to pay the member a sum for mileage at a rate determined by the county fiscal body for each mile traveled to attend the school.
