20-19-2-19. Federal funds for career and technical education; use of funds subject to allocation by general assembly

Sec. 19. (a) The governor's workforce cabinet (established by IC 4-3-27-3) shall receive, distribute, and account for all funds received for career and technical education under the Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Applied Technology Act (20 U.S.C. 2301 et seq.). The governor's workforce cabinet may enter into agreements with the federal government for receiving federal funds under this subsection. However, an agreement under this subsection is subject to the approval of the budget agency. The governor's workforce cabinet shall make recommendations to the budget committee concerning the allocation of federal funds received under this subsection.

(b) The governor's workforce cabinet may not expend or distribute funds received under subsection (a) unless those funds have been allocated by the general assembly.
