(820 ILCS 85/1) (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2022) Sec. 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Commission on Young Adult Employment Act. (Source: P.A. 99-338, eff. 8-11-15.)

(820 ILCS 85/5) (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2022) Sec. 5. Commission on Young Adult Employment. The Commission on Young Adult Employment is created as a 17-member Commission. Four members of the Commission shall be appointed by each legislative leader. Members of the Commission shall receive no compensation, but may be reimbursed for their expenses from appropriations available for that purpose. The Chairperson of the Chicago State University Board of Trustees or his or her designee shall be the chairperson of the Commission. The Commission shall meet at the call of the Chair. Each Commission member shall have a 2-year term. A legislative leader may appoint a replacement member upon the death, disability, or resignation of any member appointed by that leader. (820 ILCS 85/10) (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2022) Sec. 10. Administrative support. Chicago State University shall provide administrative support to the Commission. (Source: P.A. 99-338, eff. 8-11-15.)

(820 ILCS 85/15) (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2022) Sec. 15. Commission duties. (a) The Commission shall identify issues concerning the readiness and ability of young adults to find employment after graduating from college or otherwise completing their education that may be addressed by the 99th General Assembly and future General Assemblies. The Commission shall make recommendations regarding the issues identified. The issues and recommendations shall address the barriers faced by young adults who seek employment or promotional opportunities in State government and possible incentives that could be offered to foster the employment of and the promotion of young adults in State government.(b) The Commission shall consult with State agencies, community stakeholders, other universities and institutions of higher education, and local school boards. (820 ILCS 85/20) (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2022) Sec. 20. Findings and recommendations. The Commission shall meet and begin its work no later than 60 days after the appointment of all Commission members. By November 30, 2015, and by November 30 of every year thereafter, the Commission shall submit a report to the General Assembly setting forth its findings and recommendations. The requirement for reporting to the General Assembly shall be satisfied by filing copies of the report as required under Section 3.1 of the General Assembly Organization Act.
