(30 ILCS 555/0.01) (from Ch. 29, par. 35.9) Sec. 0.01. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Illinois Mined Coal Act. (Source: P.A. 86-1324.)

(30 ILCS 555/1) (from Ch. 29, par. 36) Sec. 1. The board of trustees or other officer in charge of every institution in the State of Illinois which is supported in whole or in part by public funds or which is owned by any municipal corporation or political subdivision of this State, who are authorized and required to purchase coal for fuel purposes in the operation of any such institution, shall be required to purchase and use coal which is mined in the State of Illinois, if the cost of coal mined in the State of Illinois is not more than ten per cent (10%) greater than the cost of coal mined in any other State or States, including the cost of transportation. (30 ILCS 555/2) (from Ch. 29, par. 37) Sec. 2. The term "institution" as used in this Act shall mean all institutions maintained by the State or by any municipal corporation or political subdivision thereof, including municipally owned public utility plants. (Source: Laws 1937, p. 1207.)

(30 ILCS 555/3) (from Ch. 29, par. 38) Sec. 3. Any trustee or officer who shall violate any of the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a petty offense. (Source: P.A. 77-2367.)

(30 ILCS 555/4) (from Ch. 29, par. 39) Sec. 4. The Department of Natural Resources shall, upon its own motion or upon complaint, investigate any violations of this Act. If after any such investigation such Department is satisfied that any of the provisions of this Act have been violated, it shall institute proceedings for the prosecution of such violators in the circuit court.
