(25 ILCS 130/3A-1) Sec. 3A-1. Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability; pension laws. (a) The Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability shall have the powers, duties, and functions that may be provided by law. (b) The Commission shall make a continuing study of the laws and practices pertaining to pensions and related retirement and disability benefits for persons in State or local government service and their survivors and dependents, shall evaluate existing laws and practices, and shall review and make recommendations on proposed changes to those laws and practices. (c) The Commission shall be responsible for the preparation of Pension Impact Notes as provided in the Pension Impact Note Act. (d) The Commission shall report to the General Assembly annually or as it deems necessary or useful on the results of its studies and the performance of its duties. (e) The Commission may request assistance from any other entity as necessary or useful for the performance of its duties. (f) For purposes of the Successor Agency Act and Section 9b of the State Finance Act, the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability is the successor to the Pension Laws Commission. The Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability succeeds to and assumes all powers, duties, rights, responsibilities, personnel, assets, liabilities, and indebtedness of the Pension Laws Commission. Any reference in any law, rule, form, or other document to the Pension Laws Commission is deemed to be a reference to the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability.
