(20 ILCS 1805/34.1) Sec. 34.1. Separation; discharge; Illinois National Guard. (a) Members of the Illinois National Guard shall be separated from the active service in accordance with federal laws and regulations as made applicable to the National Guard, except as otherwise provided herein or in the Illinois Code of Military Justice.(b) Members of the Illinois National Guard who are discharged from the Illinois National Guard, in the case of officers with a dismissal or in the case of enlisted personnel with a dishonorable discharge, shall be ineligible to hold any elective or appointive office, position, or employment in the service of this State, any county, or any municipality thereof, for a period of 5 years unless such disability shall be removed by the Governor.
