§ 57102. Inventory of Public Vehicles. The Director of the Department of Public Works shall maintain an inventory of all motor vehicles owned by the government of Guam, its various departments and agencies, including autonomous or semi- autonomous agencies. The inventory shall contain a description of the vehicle, its engine or serial number, the entity using the vehicle, the date the vehicle was acquired and placed in the inventory, the date the vehicle was removed from the inventory and the reason for removal. § 57103. Maintenance & Repair of Public Vehicles
Except as otherwise provided, the Department of Public Works shall maintain and repair all vehicles owned by the Executive Branch of the government of Guam, its various departments and agencies, including semi-autonomous and autonomous agencies. SOURCE: GC § 10612 enacted by P.L. 16-57:1 (01/10/82)
§ 57104. Who is to Maintain Vehicles. (a) The Director of the Department of Public Works may authorize an agency to repair and maintain its own vehicles if the vehicles are specialized equipment used primarily by that agency on the performance of duties unique to it
COL120106 1 5 GCA GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS CH. 57 VEHICLE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR (b) The Director of the Department of Public Works may contract with a private entity to repair and maintain a vehicle if no employee of the Department of Public Works possesses the capability to repair and maintain it or if private repair and maintenance would be more economical and will not cause the layoff of any Department of Public Works personnel
(c) The Director of the Department of Public Works may repair and maintain the vehicles owned by the Legislative and Judicial Branches of the government of Guam upon the request of the branch
(d) The Director of the Department of Public Works may contract with the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation or the Guam Community College to repair and maintain a vehicle if repair and maintenance would be more economical than contracting with a private entity and will not cause the layoff of any Department of Public Works personnel
