Student Identification Cards Issued to Minors. § 1101. Title. This Title shall be known as The Education Law. SOURCE: GC § 11000. § 1102. Purpose. 9 COL7/31/2019 17 GCA EDUCATION CH. 1 DEFINITIONS This Title establishes the laws of this Territory respecting the subjects to which it relates and its provisions, and all proceedings under it are to be liberally construed, with a view to effect its objects and to promote justice. SOURCE: GC § 11001 enacted by P.L. 1-88 (1952). § 1103. Board. ‘Board’ means the Guam Education Policy Board. SOURCE: GC § 11002. Repealed by P.L. 24-142:12 (Feb. 27, 1998). Added by P.L. 26-026:11 (July 5, 2001). § 1104. Superintendent. ‘Superintendent’ means the Superintendent of Education of the government of Guam. SOURCE: GC § 11003. Repealed and reenacted by P.L. 26-026:12 (July 5, 2001). § 1105. School: Defined. School means any public school except the University of Guam unless otherwise specifically provided. SOURCE: GC 11004. § 1105.1. School Naming. The Board is authorized to designate by appropriate name the public schools. Any name of any school in effect at the time of the enactment of this Section shall continue in effect until a new name is assigned by the Board. SOURCE: GC § 11005, as added by P.L. 16-107. Albert Gene Roberts Memorial Trophy. The trophy heretofore named the Albert Gene Roberts Memorial Trophy to honor the late student Albert Gene Roberts who was known for his good sportsmanship and who contributed much to the group efforts of his fellow teammates for the benefit of the John F. Kennedy football team. At such ceremony as the Director of Education deems appropriate, said trophy shall be so 10 COL7/31/2019 17 GCA EDUCATION CH. 1 DEFINITIONS officially named, at which time a memorial trophy bearing the name of said student shall be affixed at a suitable spot within the John F. Kennedy Senior High School. SOURCE: GC § 11006.1, as added by P.L. 12-073. §1107. Student Identification Cards Issued to Minors. All student identification cards issued to persons under the age of eighteen (18) years of age, who are enrolled in any public education institution of the government of Guam, including the Department of Education, the University of Guam and the Guam Community College shall prominently display the month and year in which such person will turn eighteen (18) years of age.
