(a) A municipality which, pursuant to section 7-136d, has authorized the establishment of a foreign trade zone, shall submit a copy of the application for the privilege of operating such foreign trade zone to the regional council of governments for the area of operation within which such municipality is located and the Departments of Economic and Community Development, Energy and Environmental Protection and Transportation for their comments on the advisability of establishment of such zone. Such comments shall be prepared within ninety days of receipt of the application from the municipality.

(b) The Departments of Economic and Community Development, Energy and Environmental Protection and Transportation shall submit their advisory comments to the municipality and to the board established by said federal Foreign-Trade Zones Act.

History: P.A. 77-614 substituted department of economic development for department of commerce, effective January 1, 1979; P.A. 95-250 and P.A. 96-211 replaced Commissioner and Department of Economic Development with Commissioner and Department of Economic and Community Development; P.A. 13-247 amended Subsec. (a) by substituting “council of governments” for “planning agency”, effective January 1, 2015 (Revisor's note: In Subsecs. (a) and (b), references to Department of Environmental Protection were changed editorially by the Revisors to Department of Energy and Environmental Protection for accuracy).
