(a) Unless this article is repealed pursuant to subdivision (b) or (g) of Section 14166.2, this article shall become inoperative on the date that the director executes a declaration, which shall be retained by the director and provided to the fiscal and appropriate policy committees of the Legislature, stating that the federal demonstration project or the successor demonstration project provided for in this article has been terminated by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and shall, six months after the date the declaration is executed, be repealed.

(b) In addition to the requirements specified in subdivision (a), the director shall post the declaration on the department’s Internet Web site and the director shall send the declaration to the Secretary of State and the Legislative Counsel.
