Section 11020.1.

Notwithstanding Section 11020, the Department of Motor Vehicles may reduce its hours of service for transacting business during the period between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., inclusive, Monday to Friday, inclusive, in order to ensure that service for transacting business may be provided within existing resources before 8 a.m. or after 5 p.m., Monday to Friday, inclusive, or on Saturday. This authority may not be exercised so as to do any of the following:

(a) Conflict with subdivision (b) of Section 11020.

(b) Require a full-time employee to work in excess of five consecutive days as part of a regular workweek of 40 hours.

(c) Relieve the department of any obligation under an approved memorandum of understanding relating to hours of work, overtime, or alternative work schedules.
