The Legislature recognizes that the academy has unique facilities, such as a large ship docking facility, training ship, several smaller vessels, and equipment, which provide potential resources to the California State University.
The trustees are encouraged to develop programs designed to increase the sharing and lending of facilities among the academy and the other campuses of the California State University and to allow the exchange of students and instructors when that action is not inconsistent with the mission of the academy and the other campuses.
