(a) In Lowndes County, the judge of probate shall receive a salary increase of five thousand dollars ($5,000) per annum to commence on October 1, 1990. The salary increase shall be paid in the same manner and from the same funds as his or her current salary.
(b) If there should be enacted a statewide law providing for an increase in the judge of probate salary which, when added to the increase provided for under this section shall exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000), then the amount of the salary increase provided for under this section shall decrease by the amount in excess of ten thousand dollars ($10,000).
