§ 200.926a - Residential building code comparison items.

HUD will review each local and State code submitted under this subpart to determine whether it regulates all of the following areas and subareas:

Fire Safety. (1) Allowable height;

Fire separations;

Fire resistance requirements;

Egress doors and windows;

Unit smoke detectors;

Flame spread.

Light and ventilation. (1) Habitable rooms;

Bath and toilet rooms.

Structural loads and seismic design. (1) Design live loads;

Design dead loads;

Snow loads (for jurisdictions with snow loading conditions identified in Section 7 of ASCE-7-88 (formerly ANSI A58.1-82);

Wind loads;

Earthquake loads (for jurisdictions in seismic zones 3 or 4, as identified in Section 9 of ASCE-7-88 (formerly ANSI A58.1-82)).

Foundation systems. (1) Foundation depths;

Footings;

Foundation materials criteria.

Materials standards. (1) Materials standards.

Construction components. (1) Steel;

Masonry;

Concrete;

Lumber;

Roof construction and covering;

Chimneys and fireplaces.

Glass. (1) Thickness/area requirements;

Safety glazing.

Mechanical. (1) Heating, cooling and ventilation systems;

Gas, liquid and solid fuel piping and equipment;

Chimneys and vents;

Ventilation (air changes).

Plumbing. (1) Materials standards;

Sizing and installing drainage systems;

Vents and venting;

Traps;

Cleanouts;

Plumbing fixtures;

Water supply and distribution;

Sewage disposal systems.

Electrical. (1) Branch circuits;

Services;

Grounding;

Wiring methods;

Cable;

Conduit;

Outlets, switches and junction boxes;

Panelboards.
