Specifications. Type A medicated articles containing 77.12 grams tylvalosin per pound as tylvalosin tartrate.

Special considerations. (1) Federal law restricts medicated feed containing this veterinary feed directive (VFD) drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian. See § 558.6 for additional requirements.
VFDs for tylvalosin shall not be refilled.
An expiration date of 1 week is required for tylvalosin Type C medicated swine feeds in pelleted or crumbled form.
Conditions of use in swine—(1) Amount. Administer 38.6 grams tylvalosin per ton of Type C medicated feed (42.5 ppm) as the sole ration for 14 consecutive days.
Indications for use. For the control of porcine proliferative enteropathy (PPE) associated with Lawsonia intracellularis infection in groups of swine in buildings experiencing an outbreak of PPE.
