§ 455.142 - Grant awards for schools, hospitals, and coordinating agencies.

DOE may make grants to schools, hospitals, and coordinating agencies for up to 50 percent of the costs of performing technical assistance programs for buildings covered by an application approved in accordance with § 455.140; except that in the case of schools and hospitals a majority of whose operating and capital funds are provided by the Government of the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, or the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands a grant may be made for up to 100 percent of such costs. Grant awards for technical assistance programs in any State within any grant program cycle shall be limited to a portion of the total allocation as specified in § 455.30(b)(1).

DOE may make grants to schools, hospitals and coordinating agencies for up to 50 percent of the costs of acquiring and installing energy conservation measures, including renewable resource measures, for buildings covered by an application approved in accordance with § 455.140, except that in the case of schools and hospitals a majority of whose operating and capital funds are provided by the Government of the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, or the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, a grant may be made for up to 100 percent of such costs.

DOE may award up to 10 percent of the total amount allocated to a State for schools and hospitals in cases of severe hardship, ascertained by the State in accordance with the State Plan, for buildings recommended and in amounts determined by the State pursuant to § 455.132(d)(2).
